MAXSPORTS ADVENTURE PARK 716 Gen. San Luis Road Bagbaguin, Valenzuela City Tel No: 407-3245, 0923-501-3772 Game Mechanics and Officials The FAS National Speedball NCR North Eliminations is a game played by two teams with the number of ten players on each side. Teams shall field a maximum of ten players during the eliminations. Teams are only allowed to register maximum of two additional reserves The objective of the game is for each team to capture the flag of the opposing team and to eliminate as many opposing players as possible, while capturing and returning the opposing team’s flag to its own flag station within a limited time period. Games will have a 5-minute limited time period. Rules Committee: The Rules Committee is responsible for formulating the official playing rules. The Rules Committee will meet on the day prior to the beginning of the Event to review and issue interpretations of these Rules. Equipment Committee: The Equipment Committee is responsible for determining proper use of equipment or which devices will not be permitted to be used by players. The equipment committee is also in-charge of safe keeping the guns to be used before game play. The Rules Committee will directly oversee the Equipment Committee. Marshals: The Marshals are responsible for strict enforcement of these rules promulgated by the Rules Committee. A Head Marshal oversees the efficiency of these rules for smooth game play. Each Marshal reports to the Head Marshal for any action and penalties to be given to the player or competing teams. Head Marshal’s decision is final. Divisions: 1st Elimination round, 2nd Elimination round, 3rd elimination round and Finals. © 2009 Max Sports Adventure Park: All materials written are based on the FAS rule book and NPPL Federation Pre-Game Procedures Inspection Procedure: Each team must report to the Chrono-Station at least 10 minutes before the game is scheduled to begin. Each player’s will be given a colored arm band printed with a corresponding number. All players are required to wear the official issued arm band when playing. Gun Inspection: All guns to be used by the participants will be inspected and chronographed by a Chrono-Marshal using an F1 Chrony Choronographed. Chronographs will be placed on a designated area outside of the field prior to each game. FPS Limits: 450 fps on .20g BB's, all weapons will be chronographed and tagged prior to the event. Any player caught using his weapon which exceeds the set limit will be disqualified along with his team. Ammunition: Players are allowed to possess and use unlimited no. of pellets provided they will only use STANDARD MANUAL MAGAZINES for their guns. No AUTO MAGS and BOX MAGS ARE ALLOWED DURING THE GAME. Use of invisible or black pellets is also prohibited. Remedial Measures: Remedial Measures will only be done if improper measurements were done on behalf of the marshals. After gun Inspection: Players will surrender their guns to the Chrono-Marshal to be placed on a designated area to for safekeeping and to avoid gun tampering. This process will be done after each game played. Pre-Game Restricted Area: Players who have passed the chronograph will be stationed in a controlled area adjacent to the chronograph area. This area will be supervised by a Marshal or other tournament official. Players who have passed the chronograph may not leave this area, except to enter the field with a Marshall. Players in this area may not accept any items from any person outside of this area, except through the Chrono-Marshal. Prohibited Equipment: Teams are not allowed to use communication devices, such as radios and mobile phones. Any form of electronic surveillance devices are also not allowed to be used during game play. Teams who will violate this rule are immediately subject for disqualification Protected Color: Players’ uniforms may not contain the color white, yellow, tan, orange or any light colored shirts. © 2009 Max Sports Adventure Park: All materials written are based on the FAS rule book and NPPL Federation Choice of Flag Station: The team that wins a coin-toss shall choose which Flag Station it will defend. The Playing Field The playing field shall be a rectangle, 60 meters long and 30 meters wide. The playing field shall have two Flag Stations, one at each end of the field, which will be placed central across the field. The flag stations will be a minimum of five feet (1.52 m) from the nearest bunker. Flag stations may not be used as a bunker at any time. Field contains identical obstacles and bunkers on both sides. Bunkers will be positioned throughout the playing field and will be at least five feet (1.52 m) inside of the playing field. Competing teams will start the game inside a holding area. On the end of the field, a flag (Major objective) will be placed on the starting point of each competing team. Either team must be able to secure this flag to score and win the game. Out-of-Bounds: Field boundaries are marked down both sides in white line. Players moved to the side lines constitutes out of bounds in which the player will be eliminated. Any ground space outside of the playing field shall be out-of-bounds and result in elimination for the player. Dead Boxes: There will be two dead boxes next to the playing field in the out-of bounds area where players must go when eliminated. Safety Netting: The playing field, out-of-bounds area and the dead boxes will be surrounded in safety netting. Spectator Safety Zone: All fields will have a roped off safety zone no less than five feet from any side of the field netting. Players and spectators will stay behind the roped off safety area. Those individuals who choose go into the safety zone are subject to immediate removal from the site by Max Sports Adventure Park Staff. Field Orientation: Any team competing for the tournament may examine any and all playing fields on the day prior to the first day of the tournament, but may not in any way alter any playing field. However, no team or player may play any field prior to any tournament, unless © 2009 Max Sports Adventure Park: All materials written are based on the FAS rule book and NPPL Federation such play is for promotional purposes and the team or player has been authorized by a representative of the Event Organizers Scoring A. The FAS National Speedball NCR North Eliminations is a “points-down” game. Main objective is to secure the center flag on the site. B. The game has a fixed allotted time of 5-minutes. C. The faster the objective is met, the higher the score. Every elapsed minute is equivalent to 10-points down. Corresponding points will be added to a team base on the ff: 1 Minute duration = 50 points. 2 Minute duration = 40 points 3 Minute duration = 30 points 4 Minute duration = 20 points 5 Minute duration = 10 points D. Each opposing team member eliminated is worth 5-points. E. The first team to secure the flag and cross the flag to their starting area earns 50-points. F. Teams who would not be able to cross the flag but was able to grab the flag will earn 20- points. G. No points will be awarded for grabbing the flag for the second time. Maximum points that will be awarded for Grabbing and crossing the flag for the second time will be 30- points. H. If the objective (flag) is not secured in the allotted time, both teams are penalized with 30-points down. There is no such thing as a “draw” The team with the highest score wins. I. In case of a tie score among teams. The Game would be reset. Additional Penalties and Deductions: Ten for 0ne: Assessment of the ten-for-one penalty (10- points deducted to a team for having team a member committing the infraction) may take place for the following infractions: A. Disobedience. Player fails to obey a direct instruction of a Referee (discretionary). Twenty for one: Assessment of the tweny-for-one rule penalty (20- points deducted to a team for having team a member committing the infraction) may take place for the following infractions: © 2009 Max Sports Adventure Park: All materials written are based on the FAS rule book and NPPL Federation A. Playing-On. Player continues to play after an obvious hit and materially alters of the course of the game after marshal’s call. B. Affiliated Spectator Interference. Spectator that is known to be affiliated with team or player on team provides strategic advice. Thirty for one: Assessment of the thirty for-one rule (30- points deducted to a team for having team a member committing the infraction) may take place for the following infractions: A. Playing-On. Player fires his Airsoft Gun after acknowledging elimination, with the intent to eliminate an opposing player after marshal’s call. Score Sheet Metrics: Grab Flag + 20-points Grab Flag and Cross Flag +30-points. Captured Flag + 50-points Enemy Eliminated + 5-points each Time 1 Minute duration = 50-points. 2 Minute duration = 40-points 3 Minute duration = 30-points 4 Minute duration = 20-points 5 Minute duration = 10-points Unsecured Flag both teams will be deducted with 30 points Example: Flag is captured Team Alpha Team Bravo Captured flag = 50 pts Enemy eliminated, 2 (5) = (+10) Points earned 50 + 10 = 60 Bonus points: Time: 2 mins = (+40) Captured flag = 0 pts Enemy eliminated, 3 (5) = (+15) Time: 0 pts Total score = 15 pts © 2009 Max Sports Adventure Park: All materials written are based on the FAS rule book and NPPL Federation *Points earned +Bonus = 100 pts. Penalty: = Twenty for one rule (-20) Total points awarded = (100 – 20) = 80pts. Score Sheet Procedures • The score sheets will be filled out by the Head Marshal of the field and shown to both team captains. • Nothing on the score sheet may be crossed out or written over. • It is the responsibility of each team captain to check the score sheet. If a team captain finds a mistake on the score sheet, a new one will be filled out. • When both team captains agree on the score sheet, they will sign it and the score sheet will not be modified even if mistakes are discovered afterwards with the exception of mathematical errors. • If a team captain refuses to sign the sheet because of a disagreement, an Ultimate Referee may be called. The Ultimate Referee will talk with the Head Marshal of the field and both team captains. The Ultimate Ref will decide whether the score sheet must be amended, and if the team captain still refuses to sign the sheet, the Ultimate Referee will validate the sore. • Score sheets will be filled out in two copies. The original copy will go to the scores table via runner and a duplicate will stay with the Head Marshal. • Mathematical errors may be corrected at any time prior to the start of the next round of play. Mathematical error is defined by the addition on the score sheet and not counting live players at the end of the game. © 2009 Max Sports Adventure Park: All materials written are based on the FAS rule book and NPPL Federation • Only mathematical errors may be corrected after the score has been posted on the scoreboard. Game Start Five Second Warning: The Head Marshal on the tower will begin game by saying players get ready for the 5 second warning. The Head Marshal will then say Five second warning in 3, 2, 1, and then Head Marshal will count downwards beginning from 5. A Led Display timer is also available for the spectators to see the countdown. Position of Players: Players must have their guns pointed upwards until the 5 second warning is over. Players must also start inside the Team holding area and will only move out after the hearing the go signal of the Head Marshal. Game Start: The Head Marshal will give such warning with a countdown of get ready For a Five second warning then shouts “Three, two, one, counts five seconds downwards.” Thereafter, the game will start by the Head Ref shouting so that each team may hear, by radio or otherwise, either, “Game on”, or “Go, go, go”. Time: Official game time will be kept by the Head Marshal or a Field Marshal appointed thereby, but in no event shall the official game time be kept by a Flag Marshal. In the event that a game is to be interrupted because of a medical emergency, or otherwise, the Head Marshal will mark the time or cause the Field Marshall appointed thereby to keep the official game time to mark the time. Game Stoppages False Start: In a situation where a false start happens due to a Marshal Mistake or miscommunication the Head Ref will stop the game and restart as if the game had never started. Reasons for Game Stoppage: Only the Head Marshal lf may declare the game stopped. Game stoppages will only occur in case of an emergency, dangerous weather conditions, other “acts of God” or a physical altercation on the game field. © 2009 Max Sports Adventure Park: All materials written are based on the FAS rule book and NPPL Federation Procedure: Field Marshal will note the locations of the players at the time that the game is stopped. Once the game has been stopped, the Field Marshal will insure that players remain in those locations. Marshal will check all players and will remove any players who were eliminated prior to the game being stopped. Players may not reload or refill air during this time. Referees will confer to review the sequence of events prior to the game stoppage. If penalties need to be assessed, they will be so assessed at such time. Players with hits may be reinstated into the game if the field Referees determine, at their discretion, that a player was eliminated after the game was declared stopped or as a direct result of illegal actions, which led directly to the game stoppage. Restart: Once the condition causing the game stoppage has abated or been resolved, all the live players and flags are placed in proper positions by the Field Refs, the Head Marshal will restart the game in accordance with the procedures specified above. Time will begin to run upon such restart. Game End Cease Shooting. Players may not fire their Airsoft Guns following: • An instruction from a Field Marshal to cease fire • A successful flag hang • 5-minutes after the start of the game. Inspection: All live players at the end of a game must present themselves to a Field Marshal for inspection. Game End: A game will end only by the Head Marshal on the field announcing, “Game Over.” Flags Team Flags: Once a team flag is hung in its flag station prior to the start of a game, it is not to be touched by its own team. Carrying the Flag: Players cannot attempt to hide or disguise the flag in any way. Flags may be passed from live players to live players. © 2009 Max Sports Adventure Park: All materials written are based on the FAS rule book and NPPL Federation Eliminated while Carrying Flag: A player eliminated while in possession of a flag should placed the flag on the ground where he was hit and should immediately exit the playing field. Forfeiture A forfeit will be declared for each game that; • A team fails to report in a timely fashion for its pre-game chronographing. • A team that has been disqualified from the event • For any game in which a team refuses to take the field. In the event that both teams fail to show for a game or are unwilling to take the field, both teams will have forfeited the game. HIT CALLS • A player will be eliminated if such player is HIT by an airsoft pellet on any part of his body. • Gun hits are not considered as hits. • Ricochet and hits by deflected pellets are not counted as hits. • Friendly fire is considered a hit. • Blind fire is not allowed. • Using “dead” players for cover is not allowed. • Point-blank shooting is not allowed. • Only marshals are allowed to make hit calls. • Arm bands may be removed intentionally by marshal during game play to display a hit player. Player should immediately leave the playing area after arm band was removed. Field Exit © 2009 Max Sports Adventure Park: All materials written are based on the FAS rule book and NPPL Federation Eliminated players must remove arm band and proceed directly to the dead box closest to team flag station, using the most direct route or according to the direction of a Field Marshall, if any is given. Players shall remain in the dead box until directed to leave by a Marshal. Eliminated players shall exit the field with all equipment that they were carrying at the time of elimination. Illegal Activities Playing-On: A player that continues to play after being hit or called out by a Marshal is considered as Playing-on. Playing-On Description: 1. Continuing to shoot or otherwise engage the opposition, 2. Continuing to move, except with respect to exiting the field by the most direct route or at the direction of a Marshal. 3. Talking, signaling or otherwise communicating, either to a Marshal, opposing players or teammates, except that a player may say, “Hit” or, “Out” or something to that effect once, 4. Impeding the progress of opposition players or a Referee, 5. Hampering a Marshal in removing players arm band during a hit call. 6. Remaining in the game while making no effort to leave the field. Spectator Interference: Spectators may be allowed to observe games and the activities on a field but may not: 1. Issue instructions to players on the field, 2. Make comments about play which are likely to be heard by players on the field, 3. Have guns in their possession, or otherwise interfere with play in any manner whatsoever. 4. Team members and associates of the competing teams who interfere or communicate with the play of that game will immediately receive a penalty as if a player Played-On. © 2009 Max Sports Adventure Park: All materials written are based on the FAS rule book and NPPL Federation Unsportsmanlike Conduct: Players will be eliminated if they engage in unsportsmanlike like conduct and will be subject to further penalties. See penalty ruling guide. Unsportsmanlike conduct may include, but is not limited to: 1. Deliberately shooting at Marshal. 2. Excessively shooting an eliminated player with intent to injure. 3. Verbally abusing any players, spectators or Referees. 4. Throwing equipment. 5. Not wearing of mask or goggles while inside the playing field 6. Damage or Destroy of Property 7. Provoke a Physical Alteration or incite violence. 8. Causing Organizer or Sponsors into dispute Game Penalties Yellow Card = WARNING! Officiating Committee may issue a “YELLOW CARD” Penalties on the field for the following reasons: 1. Player is not admitting hits 2. Use of inappropriate language or verbally abusing any individual during or after play. 3. Blind firing. 4. Using “dead” players for cover. 5. Point-blank shooting. 6. Not Wearing of Mask or Goggles while inside the Playing Field. 7. Player leaving the dead box during a game 8. Any part of player’s body touches the line or goes out-of-bounds (irrespective of whether the boundary tape, if any, is moved). Note: Players who will receive “Two Yellow Cards” will be ejected from the Game immediately. Red Warning = DISQUALIFIED FROM GAME Officiating Committee may issue a “RED CARD” Penalties on the field for the following reasons: © 2009 Max Sports Adventure Park: All materials written are based on the FAS rule book and NPPL Federation 1. Playing Dead; A Player without being hit raises marker above head, or shouts “hit “or”out”, is not wearing armband, walks with eliminated player(s) or otherwise creates the appearance of having been hit. 2. Compressing Bunkers; Players found to be altering a bunker to gain an advantage for elimination, such as pushing the marker or body between two bunkers, compressing the shapes, stepping or jumping on, or moving the bunker off its axis will be eliminated. The initial contact of the hand on the bunker will be allowed provided it does not compress the shape excessively or move it off its axis. Players may also not use pods or equipment to fill gaps between bunkers. 3. Live player checks-out at game end with an unobvious hit. 4. Velocity Violation; Players found using guns above the required FPS limit. 5. Players who are observed altering their guns during the course of the eliminations. BLACK CARD = EJECTION FROM THE EVENT 1. Illegal Reentry Player leaves the dead box and reenters the field 2. Eliminated Player Shooting from the Dead Box or Staging area. 3. Outbursts. Throwing smaller equipment (e.g., goggles, harness) in an unsportsmanlike like manner. 4. Physical contact during or after play that results in injury (e.g., spit, punch or kick). 5. Over shooting any other player with the intent to injure 6. Causing Organizer or Sponsors into dispute 7. Deliberately Shooting Referees and spectators. Disqualification plus Forfeiture A team will be disqualified from this event and forfeit points from any game that they are found to be in violation of the following rules: Game Fixing: Two opposing teams conspiring to fix the outcome of any game.
